When I'm using the fastboot command line tool to unlock the device, the tool says OKAY, finished and then the phone reboots and goes into a "broken Android Robot screen" saying "no command". Checking on the command line with "fastboot oem device-info" reveiled that the device was still locked.
I tried earlier versions of the unlock tool but no success unless I went down to version 2 which went through successfully. I went through the unlook process and ended up with a "Couldn't Unlock - Can't get info, connect again" message. So I booted it into the fastboot mode and connected it to a computer and launched the Mi Unlock tool (version 4.5.514.47). I thought it might be a good idea to re-flash the device with the latest ROM. I switched into the fastboot mode, rebooted saw the Android One screen once and the phone rebooted again and was stuck at the inital boot screen with the Mi logo. Then after holding the power button until the phone shut off the phone only showed the inital boot screen during boot but was stuck. My Mi A1 phone is stuck in the Android One boot screen after it didn't react to any touch input.
